Overview: The Modified Overt Aggression Scale (MOAS) looks at the frequency and severity of aggressive episodes. It includes four categories of aggression: verbal aggression, aggression against objects, aggression against self, and aggression against others. It is traditionally used with children and is most often completed by a primary care provider but can also be completed by a parent. It is useful in tracking symptoms over time.

Scoring and interpretation: Answers are scored on a 5-point scale from 0-4 with the 0 option having the least amount of symptoms and the 4 option having the most severe symptoms. Scores are summed and total scores range from 0 to 16.
